The Family Place offers information, referrals and programs specifically designed for women, children and their families. Programs and services promote literacy, healthy living, safe relationships, economic prosperity and quality care and education of young children by parents, care providers and community. TWRCS has an open and inclusive gathering space for individual and family interactions for community use.
What We Do...
TWRCS has and continues to provide drop in services for women, including internet, phone and copier access. As well, the centre holds much educational resources for women on everything from health, relationships, and finances to sexuality, nutrition, and childcare resources. The program offers workshops which reduce social isolation and build personal skills on topics such as parenting, health and wellness, financial skills and pre employment
- We promote a creative, intergenerational, and inclusive safe space for women to share knowledge and skills.
- Women’s Program staff are committed to cross-training all those working with women who have experienced violence, and we are knowledgeable of other agencies protocols
Success By 6 BC is a partnership of United Ways, Credit Unions of BC, the BC Government through the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) and Aboriginal and community leaders.
BC Child Care Resource & Referral programs offer quality child care and community referrals, resources and support to child care providers and families in every community across the Province of British Columbia
Literacy is an identified social determinant of health and an issue that greatly affects women and families. Low literacy sometimes links to high rates of poverty, unemployment, and poor health outcomes.
